Does that verse mean what you think it means?

We’ve all seen quotes pulled out of context and used to mean something the author didn’t mean. Unfortunately, this happens all the time with the Bible! See if you can spot the real meaning of these five verses.

Matthew 7:1 says, “Judge not, that you be not judged.”
This verse means:
Christians should never tell someone else they are sinning.
Christians should never take jobs as judges.
Christians should deal with their own sins first before dealing with the sins of others.

2 Chronicles 7:14 says, “If my people…pray...I will heal their land.”
This verse:
Was a promise to the Jewish people.
Is a promise for all believers.
Guarantees God will not judge America if Americans pray.

Romans 8:28a says, “And we know that for those who love God, all things work together for good.”
This verse means:
God’s number one job is making sure Christians always get what they want.
God will make sure that every circumstance in people’s lives will work out for their greater happiness.
God can use anything that happens in our lives to help us grow to become more like Christ.
No. 4
Matthew 18:20 says, “For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”
This verse means:
There is extra power in group prayer.
When church discipline is handled correctly, Jesus is there to affirm the process.
Friends don’t let friends pray alone.
No. 5
Philippians 4:13 says, “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”
This verse means:
I can probably fly.
God will help me endure every circumstance in my life.
Whatever my hopes and dreams are, God will help me achieve them.
