Got Fruit - You'll love these pairs!

We asked The Urban Alternative family to share some of the activities and traditions they do with their families during Christmas to focus their hearts and minds on Jesus in the midst of a busy season—and you delivered.

We come from all around the world, from different backgrounds and experiences, but one thing unites us all: our love for Jesus. Enjoy this virtual album, full of Christ-centered holiday traditions from the TUA family, and be encouraged. You may just find a new tradition of your own to try out this year.

Our family, which includes my wife, my daughter and her husband and two daughters, all attend our church Christmas Eve Service at church; then we go home to watch Christmas movies until bedtime. Christmas morning is spent at our individual homes exchanging gifts, then we all meet up again at my house to have Christmas Dinner.

We read about Jesus birth in Luke 2 and sing Silent Night before we start opening gifts on Christmas morning.
Ebelin C.
We buy a cake that says Happy Birthday Jesus and sing Happy Birthday to our Lord Jesus Christ!
Glynis C.
Prestonwood Christmas Play

Reading the Events of the First Christmas to all the small children in our family. We would make it so exciting for them. They would gather around and I would read with drama & excitement in my voice. (smile) And when I got to the birth of Christ we would have a balloon drop from the loft. poppers and streamers one year. 2023 TBD. (wink)

Christmas eve the family comes for the reading of Luke 2. We sing carols by candlelight. Christmas day a birthday cake for Jesus... we have a special breakfast with devotions.

As soon as our children wake up on Christmas morning and come to our room, we pray and open the Bible to read about Jesus birth. We do this before any presents are opened to keep Christ in the center of the day and so that they can understand that we bless them and others because of how God has blessed us.

Each year I buy my husband and son (and myself) our own personalized cup or mug and we find different drink recipes for Christmas morning. (Eggnog, hot chocolate, homemade shakes, smoothies, etc). This year I think I may do a brownie or cookie in a cup.
