Got Fruit - You'll love these pairs!

We asked The Urban Alternative family to share some of the activities and traditions they do with their families during Christmas to focus their hearts and minds on Jesus in the midst of a busy season—and you delivered.

We come from all around the world, from different backgrounds and experiences, but one thing unites us all: our love for Jesus. Enjoy this virtual album, full of Christ-centered holiday traditions from the TUA family, and be encouraged. You may just find a new tradition of your own to try out this year.

HERE’S HOW OUR TUA FAMILY IS
KEEPING CHRIST IN CHRISTMAS:

Troy S.
Getting together with immediate family for finger food on Christmas Eve and gathering all together in one room to read the story of the birth of Christ aloud. It really is a special time when everyone participates.God Bless
Priscilla J.
Read scripture and sing before opening gifts. Each year we would alternate passing out gifts
Stephanie A.
Every Christmas Eve, I read the Christmas story aloud, but not from the Bible. I have a version that came from a devotional shared in a Bible study group more than 30 years ago. It's a very real, you-are-right-there-in-the-stable-with-Mary-&-Joseph kind of storytelling. It still makes me cry every year!
Phyllis H.
Going to Church on Christmas morning. Having family dinner with the family and exchange of gifts. Play games and watching football.
Donna K.
The Singing Christmas Tree was always a tradition and I considered it a joy and privilege to be a part of every presentation, every note came from my heart to honor heist my Savior.

Placing our Bethlehem olive wood ornamental star at the top of our Christmas tree no matter the size of the tree. We also have olive wood carvings of the nativity scene, Christ in the boat during the storm, and Christ with two children a boy and girl. Purchased in Jerusalem in 1985 and 2019.

My Favorite Christ-centered Holiday tradition is Going to Church on Christmas Eve. I love starting Christmas off right with Christ.

My mother and I would start cooking Wednesday evening spending the entire night preparing the turkey dressing and all the trimmings. Even when I moved away we would do it together while we talked on the phone. It was a great time of fellowship and reflection on how good God has been to us all year long.

My family gathers at my parents house for Christmas and mostly spend the day cooking. We make jokes about how Christmas day literally ends with us cooking. But recently we introduced a thanksgiving session where everyone reflects on the faithfulness of God and gives thanks to Him.
