Got Fruit - You'll love these pairs!

We asked The Urban Alternative family to share some of the activities and traditions they do with their families during Christmas to focus their hearts and minds on Jesus in the midst of a busy season—and you delivered.

We come from all around the world, from different backgrounds and experiences, but one thing unites us all: our love for Jesus. Enjoy this virtual album, full of Christ-centered holiday traditions from the TUA family, and be encouraged. You may just find a new tradition of your own to try out this year.

HERE’S HOW OUR TUA FAMILY IS
KEEPING CHRIST IN CHRISTMAS:

Cynthia H.
Beginning all of our Christmas decorating by setting up our nativity first and in a prominent location reading of Jesus' birth in Luke, doing advent devotionals and attending mass.
John A.
Reflecting on the blessings of life. Grateful for a birthday celebration like no other, a birthday celebration where everyone is special, because everyone gets a gift at this birthday celebration. My favorite tradition is celebrating the happiness and joyful moments of the Christmas Holiday.
Taunya S.
We attend a candlelight service and take communion and then head home and read the story of Christs birth from the chapter of Luke on Christmas Eve.
Lorie C.
Our Traditions are to pray over our day beggining with prayer before out feet touch the ground from our beds, just after waking up in the morning. Remembering how great the love of Jesus is and the how great the grace of God is. Focus on how blessed we are to be given such grace. Remembering that every gift is from our heavenly Father through Jesus
Tina C.
Saying Jesus is the Reason for the season. Having carols ,communion and candles at church. Doing these type of devotionals with my 12 year old daughter
Maryanne V.
I was a divorced single parent and raised my only daughter. Every Christmas Eve we would have tea in a special fancy tea pot and read the story of Jesus birth as found in Luke. We would set up our manger weeks before but only put Jesus in His manger on Christmas Eve. These are simple things but I knew it was important to establish traditions.
Pat V.
Instead of a tree we put up a nativity set as our focus on Christmas. We dont share gifts but time together over a meal & fun.
Lynda S.
We make grave blankets for my husband's parents and my parents and we gather our adult children and their kids to lay the wreaths and talk about who came before us and who waits for us in Heaven. And we talk about how those lives impacted our belief in Jesus.
K N.
We open one gift then go to mass.
