Got Fruit - You'll love these pairs!

We asked The Urban Alternative family to share some of the activities and traditions they do with their families during Christmas to focus their hearts and minds on Jesus in the midst of a busy season—and you delivered.

We come from all around the world, from different backgrounds and experiences, but one thing unites us all: our love for Jesus. Enjoy this virtual album, full of Christ-centered holiday traditions from the TUA family, and be encouraged. You may just find a new tradition of your own to try out this year.

HERE’S HOW OUR TUA FAMILY IS
KEEPING CHRIST IN CHRISTMAS:

Gail C.
Family, spending time with family, and celebrating the birth of Christ praying together, and teaching the children about the importance of Christ.
Bobbie R.
My favorite memories are the times that we gathered at my grandparent's home. We always sang, knelt for prayer (seemingly forever to us as kids) before opening any gifts on Christmas morning. We loved being with each other, even tho'we were crammed together. We ate great Christmas dinners, laughed out loud a lot with joy, closing the day in song.
ALLISON D.
We bake a birthday cake for Jesus every Christmas Eve.
Joyce S.
Our family use to get together and attend church services before the festivities began but lately we have lost so much family. Now we meet for Christmas as a big family and do individual family with just our children for Thanksgiving. As the mother and grandmother I remind my family to thank God in all things and we always pray before the meal.
David A.
We read the story of Jesus' birth on Christmas morning before we eat or open any presents.
Linda K.
We put an empty wooden box in the family room, representing the manger. When someone secretly does something helpful, kind, and unexpected for someone else, they place in the manger a piece of straw from the bale in the garage, preparing for the arrival of Jesus. We talk about our attitudes and actions making place for HIM to manifest in our lives.

It's always a tradition in my house to attend a Christmas Eve service. If we can't get to our own church's service for some reason, we will look around for another Christmas Eve service that we can attend. That has always been a blessing. One year we went to an 11 pm Christmas Eve service, and it was very special.

We would actually like to implement Christmas Traditions because we don't have one!
